Lawsuit Against Hospital Confidentially Settled; Will Cover Future Medical Bills and Surgeries
October 22, 2014
Attorney Sternberg recently settled a medical malpractice lawsuit on behalf of a hospital patient who suffered significant burns from an IV infiltration which resulting in scarring. The infiltration occurred because the nurses and hospital staff were overworked and understaffed. The nurses were also ignorant of the standard of care for how to monitor and access IV infusions. The IV was placed in the wrong location and the site was not monitored regularly as required by standard IV policies. The hospital steadfastly refused to admit any wrongdoing. The considerable confidential settlement will help pay for future medical bills and surgeries.
