By filing recent court action, Wapner Newman aims to improve safety of future concertgoers.
PHILADELPHIA – August 24, 2016 – Numerous concertgoers and event staff were injured on August 5 at the BB&T Pavilion when a railing collapsed during a Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa concert; on August 6 the Chicago Tribune reported that 42 people had been hurt in the collapse. Live Nation, who allegedly was responsible for the maintenance, staffing, and security of the facility, is the subject of recent lawsuits alleging poorly maintained guard rails at the event, among other factors.
The Pennsylvania law firm Wapner Newman filed a Civil Action (Jasine Andreoli v. Live Nation Worldwide, Inc., et al., Case No. 160803189) and (Marquise Colon v. Live Nation Worldwide, Inc., et al., Case No. 160803201) on August 24, 2016, in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. The lawsuit alleges a series of foreseeable and preventable circumstances that resulted in numerous injuries to both attendees and workers of the Snoop Dogg High Road Tour concert.
David Sternberg, along with the law firm of Saltz Mongeluzzi Barrett & Bendesky, P.C., represent plaintiffs in the action.
“It is beyond dispute that this accident was preventable. We intend to vigorously pursue those responsible for causing our clients’ injuries, and seek to improve the safety of future concert patrons at this venue,” said attorney David Sternberg of the firm.
The collapse of the structure is alleged to have stemmed from the condition of the rail, the poor selection of stage location and the inadequate crowd control measures at the event, according to the Complaint. It also alleges that these conditions were the responsibility of Live Nation and that the defendants had been notified prior to the event that the railing was inadequate.
