Robert S. Miller is a partner in the firm of Wapner Newman. In 2009, the firm's name was changed to include Miller in recognition of his many accomplishments. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 31, 1968, Mr. Miller earned his Bachelor's degree from the Pennsylvania State University and received his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in 1992.
Mr. Miller's path to law was shaped early in life by observing the stability and impact that attorneys could have on people's lives. From a young age, he was drawn specifically to representing victims of negligence—a focus that has defined his entire career. This calling has allowed him to make meaningful differences in clients' lives, whether securing an $8,000 settlement that represented life-changing money for an elderly client who had never possessed such funds, or obtaining a $70,000 recovery that enabled a single father to purchase his first home for his twin sons, or negotiating multi-million dollar settlements that provide long-term security through special needs trusts.
Mr. Miller has proudly served as Chairperson of the Philadelphia Bar Association Arbitration Committee. He has lectured to colleagues on multiple topics including proper preparation of a case for arbitration, and has also lectured extensively for numerous organizations and schools on personal injury litigation. Mr. Miller has been recognized as a 2022 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and a 2020 Best Lawyers In America, Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Miller concentrates his practice in matters of personal injury including motor vehicle accident litigation, slips/trips and falls, premises liability, construction site accidents, dog bites, and medical malpractice. He is known for his attention to detail and thorough preparation of his cases for litigation, as well as his commitment to helping clients navigate complex medical systems and secure the care they need. As a result, Mr. Miller has enjoyed great success representing and protecting his injured clients and their interests.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. Miller is an avid golfer and basketball player. He and the firm are passionate supporters of Philadelphia's professional sports teams, proudly backing the Phillies, Sixers, Eagles, and Flyers.
Mr. Miller is a member of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Philadelphia Bar Associations, as well as the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Associations. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (1992), New Jersey (1992) and before the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1994), District of New Jersey (1994) and the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.
